The Wines with Margot

Madfish Sauvignon Blanc & Semillon    
Sauvignon Blanc 67% Semillon 33%
Clear pale straw in colour with lovely fresh fruit aromas of guava, pear and lemon zest tickled with wafts of jasmine florals. The palate shows apple, pear and passionfruit notes around a key lime citrus background. A bright, juicy wine with heaps of fruit flavour and a zesty acidity.

Madfish Chardonnay     
This chardonnay has a pale straw colour with a green hue tint. Melon and peach aromas mingle with tropical fruits, and underlying zesty citrus notes. The palate is generous and lively, boasting a powerful fruit punch and balanced fine acidity. A well rounded, bright, vivacious wine with juicy fruit freshness, a fine texture, and generous length.

Punto Final Malbec Clásico
Dark ruby red in color with violet tones, this Malbec has aromas of red currants, blackberries, and plums, with notes of pepper and clove. Flavors of black cherries, red and black currants, and juicy plums fill the mouth with hints of wood spice and vanilla on the finish.
 
El Enemigo Bonarda 
This Bonarda shows a deep violet color with bluish reflections. The nose is intense and complex. Intense aromas of ripe black fruit, blackberries, raspberries, black cherries, chocolate and liquor, with some spicy notes of fresh herbs provided by the Cabernet Franc appear. The taste has a sweet impact with silky tannins and aromas of ripe black and red fruits with notes of licorice and vanilla. Its natural acidity is refreshing. By its concentration and complexity the finish is long and persistent.
 
El Enemigo Cabernet Franc
This Cabernet Franc is ruby red in color with soft violet tones. The nose has intense aromas and concentrated notes of cassis, ripe currants, and sweet spices including black pepper and cloves. His tenure provides integrated oak notes of cedar and vanilla. Fresh impact and excellent structure on the palate, reminiscent of ripe red fruits with hints of eucalyptus and tagged black pepper. This wine has an excellent balance and elegance with a well-structured, persistent finish.

Article One Amber Lager

Pleasant medium-bodied Vienna-style lager with lightly toasted malt flavor. Made with imported Vienna and Munich malts. (ABV = 5.5%/ IBU = 15)

Stone Brewing Richmond Tangerine Express IPA
Big tangerine aroma and flavor upfront, then very dry citrus hops. The aroma is literally juicy, not hoppy juicy, like straight from the fruit. (ABV = 6.7%/ IBU = 75)

Great Divide Brewing Co. (Denver, CO): Colette Farmhouse Ale
Fruity and slightly tart, with a finish that makes it that rarest of treats - a beer that is refreshing and complex. (ABV = 7.3%/ Beer Advocate Rating = 92)

50% Grenache / 30% Syrah / 20% Cinsault
No malolactic fermentation Tasting: Brilliant and pale color.  Concentrate of small fruits with pepper. Good acidity with a lot of roundness 
 
Hanna Winery  Estate Grown Chardonnay 2014
 Russian River Valley, California  

Oak aged Tasting: Clean, fresh and vibrant, with a lively core of citrus-infused tangerine, nectarine and peach. 
 
Antinori Vineyards Peppoli Chianti Classico 2014 
Tuscany, Italy

Aged in Slovene oak for nine months Minimum 80% Sangiovese
Tasting:  Ruby red color with purple highlights, the wine shows intensely fruity notes of cherries and red currants.  Very delicate and quite well integrated with the smoky sensations created by the Slovenian oak aging. 
 
Corte Alla Flora Vineyards  Toscana 2012 
Tuscany, Italy

50% Cabernet Sauvignon / 30% Merlot / 20% Syrah
Aged 12 months in new barrels and 12 months in bottle
Tasting:  Remarkable structure and excellent balance between alcohol and acidity.  Finely presented tannins reveal its enormous potential for the future.

Tasting: Inky purple, grape and flower aroma, full bodied, dense with balanced acid, black currant, blackberry, violet and purple grape flavors, big, intense, pushing towards elegance, this powerful red shows off fresh purple fruit 


The Beers with Nate

Reaver Beach Brewing Co. (Virginia Beach, VA)
 Hoptopus Double IPA

Hazy brass colored body beneath a creamy off-white head. Massive pineapple and tropical notes (melon, mango, grapefruit) with some pine. The flavor follows, tropical with some alcoholic strength over biscuity and bready malt. A bold bitterness balances it and it finishes mainly dry with a spritz of alcohol, pine, and tropical fruit as the residual malt fades. (ABV = 8.8%/ IBU = 108)

Weyerbacher Brewing (Easton, PA)
 Line Street Pilsner

Hoppy pils with great flavor that pours a bright and deep yellow with a pleasant, light citrus flavor. Uses Czech and Mandarina Bavaria hops, that has a crisp, refreshing bitterness up front that fades into a dry, palate quenching finish. (ABV = 5.3%)

From 21st Amendment Brewery (San Francisco, CA)
Blah Blah Blah Double Imperial IPA

Deep color, double IPA jammed packed with hop flavors and aromas. (ABV = 8%/ IBU = 65)

Lunch IPA

Tropical fruit, citrus fruit, pine, subtle malt sweetness with Amarillo, Centennial, and Simcoe Hops. (ABV = 7%)

From Stone Brewing Richmond
Imperial Russian Stout 2014 Bottle aged!

Bittersweet cocoa and coffee flavors are the most prevalent, plus fruitiness and hints of anise and yeastiness, which are followed by a smooth, balance, slightly astringent, bitter finish. (ABV = 10.8%/ IBU = 65)

Also from Stone Brewing Loral & Dr Rudi’s Inevitable Adventure Double IPA
Pours a medium coppery amber with a thin head that has good retention and light lacing. Aroma of mild biscuit malt, grassy and piney hops. Flavor is neutral malt with slight caramel, grassy hops, grapefruit rind, lemon, vague mixed fruit. (ABV = 8.9%/ IBU = 84)
