who worked the Barossa goldfields in the late 1800"s.
He had the hazardous job of being a "Shotfirer";
one who handled the explosives to find that rich gold vein.

“This is rich and has some earthy elements with dried red fruit, leaves, blackcurrants, gentle spice and blueberries. The palate has a very concentrated feel with breadth of flavor and then some longer-driving fruit, too. Blueberries and blackberries. A blend of cabernet sauvignon, Malbec, cabernet franc and merlot.”

Our Thoughts on this wine....
I had the pleasure of tasting this wine last week with Owner and Winemaker Sam Clarke.
He told me the 2018 growing season had all the hallmarks of a classic vintage.
Consistent warm temperatures produced perfect conditions for these red varieties to ripen.
This generous Bordeaux style blend boasts a rich deep red-purple color.
Aromas of blackberries, fresh juicy plum and anise fill the glass.
On the palate, plush tannins are accompanied by rich notes of cassis, blackcurrant and a dash of coco.
Together they produce a wine with lavish density, complexity and length.
Food pairing: Grilled meat, grilled vegetables, strong cheese as well. Also delicious with dark chocolate.
