Castelli Di Bossi Vineyards
After a thousand-year history of ownership of the Castle, the Bacci family arrives, with Marco and Maurizio who, with great entrepreneurial spirit and in collaboration with the winemaker Alberto Antonini, have relaunched the quality level of this Chianti Classico, bringing it to the top in a few years .
Castello di Bossi has an area of ??650 hectares, 124 of which are cultivated with vineyards, where we find Sangiovese grapes, the main grape variety of Chianti Classico and of Tuscany in general; Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, whose vines were planted in Bossi about forty years ago, probably among the first in Chianti Classico.
The vine has its roots in terrains rich in tuff, yellow clays, silty sands and broken stones, at an average altitude of about 350 m above sea level. All this, combined with excellent exposure and a particular microclimate, makes it possible to create and mature healthy grapes with very high potential. The Chianti Classico Riserva Berardo is a more valuable product, with an intense ruby ??red color, with a beautiful clarity, a freshness that stands out on the nose and notes that recall china and tamarind.
The structure is powerful, with a beautiful tannicity perfectly harmonized with the alcoholic component. Also worthy of note is the excellent Tuscan Vin Santo Laurentino, with hints of ripe fruit that intertwine with light sensations of cinchona.
At the center of this company stands the Castle of Bossi, already mentioned in 11th-century texts, located in Pianella, on the road that branches off from Chiantigiana Vecchia to go up to Brolio. We are in one of the oldest and most prestigious areas of Chianti Classico.
We look forward to seeing you in person or briefly at the curb, if you decide to make it a quick stop!
