The Wine Cabinet now carries wines from The Sky Devil Winery in Napa Valley, CA. This veteran-owned winery was started in 2017 by Jeff Goldberg and Matt Vogt, who both have strong ties to the military, specifically, the United States Marine Corps. Jeff’s father flew the famous F-4U Corsair (same aircraft as Pappy Boyington’s “Black Sheep Squadron”) in World War II. Matt is a third-generation Marine aviator and flew AV-8B Harrier during Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom. It was this connection with Marine aviation that inspired them to use the name given to Marine Aviators during World War II, Sky Devils, to be the name and inspiration of their new winery.

In addition, Sky Devils have a superstar for their winemaker- Kirk Venge. Kirk is one of the most recognized and sought-after winemakers in Napa and Sonoma. He is the consulting winemaker for several other boutique producers, including Hunnicutt, Jax, Summers Estates, B Cellars, and Trespass.

Both Jeff and Matt are passionate about giving back to the military and supporting veterans. A significant portion of their sales goes to provide scholarships to veterans attending business schools. Jeff and Matt have scholarship programs at all universities that they have attended, including George Mason and William & Mary.

Sky Devil wines are exceptional and carry the commitment to quality that is synonymous with Kirk Vegnge’s name. We carry both the 2018 Cabernet and the 2018 Formation -both of which are highly rated. With 94 Points from Wine Enthusiast, the 2018 Cabernet is an excellent example of a Napa cabernet - the textured mid-body, full mouthfeel, and the right amount of oak that results in flavors of toast and blackberry.
