The Summer Heat has begun to arrive along with his close cousin, Humidity.
Not much you can do except have a cold glass of wine.
Perhaps concoct one of those Frose" (Froze-Ay) Kate likes to make that are more like an adult Icee.
Better make it two!

While we"re on the subject of wine -
DECANTER magazine has done an excellent piece on aromas in wine.
The introduction is below and you can go to the full article by clicking on the picture!

Wine aromas at-a-glance:

Primary aromas, such as fruit and floral smells, come from the grape variety itself.
Secondary aromas are broadly derived from the winemaking process.
Tertiary aromas develop as wine ages.

From lemon zest to colouring crayons, wine aromas come in all shapes and sizes –
some more personal in nature and others accepted as broadly conventional descriptions for a particular style.
A Rockefeller University study in 2014 estimated that humans can detect more than one trillion smells.
Whether or not we could hope to describe that many scents is another matter,
but it is just one study of many that emphasizes the importance of using your nose when it comes to wine tasting.
The science around the development of wine aromas, and their relationship, is an ongoing area of study.
But, it’s common for professional wine tasters to split key aromas into three broad categories.

Of course, the wines we"re offering this weekend are bursting with mouth-watering aromas!

Frank Family has long been known for the intensity of aroma in their wines
and Kathryn Hall"s Sauvignon Blanc is a exceptional example of the difference
between California and New Zealand Sauvignons.

Call us, Grab a few bottles.
Some for now , some more for later,

TODAY"S WINES
All the wines offered on the weekend are 10% OFF our listed pricing!

Hall Sauvignon Blanc $29.99
Voluptuous and well-developed, this is tingling in acidity with a luscious mouth feel
and flavors of ripe peach, grapefruit and vanilla bean.
Complex, the citrus is seasoned with a vibrancy of herb and pepper spice.
A delicious wine for fresh oysters or crab cakes.

Frank Family Chardonnay $34.99
Aromas of apple, pear, vanilla, caramel, orange blossom, quince, hazelnut explode from the glass.
Rich and fresh on the palate, the wine exhibits flavors of bright fruit, lemon drop and baked apple pie.
The smooth and creamy mouthfeel lets the flavors linger and is complemented by a long finish.
A fantastic wine for creamy seafood dishes or Parmesan Crusted Trout.

Frank Family Pinot Noir, Carneros $41.99
Bright ruby in color, this Pinot Noir is lively and fresh with a beautiful exploration of rose petal, pomegranate, and cranberry.
It shows a wealth of flavor and texture with a full-bodied figure of ripeness and structured acidity.
The style is similar to the great Pinots from the Cotes du Nuit in Burgundy.
Grilled Salmon suits this wine best, but it won"t turn its nose up at marinated London Broil.

Frank Family Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley $53.99
This Cabernet Sauvignon is deeply purple in color.
The aromas are brimming with sweet blackberries, Tahitian vanilla, chocolate dusted espresso beans and spiced cake with raspberry coulis. As further layers emerge; notes of aniseed, sage browned butter, and cigar box come forward.
The palate is profuse and lively bursting with juicy cherries, blackberry pie topped with cardamom ice cream, and fresh brewed coffee with a touch of cinnamon.
These classic aromas are harmoniously balanced by a well structured mouth feel of velvety tannins that are wonderfully polished yet youthful with lasting grip.
You would love a hearty slice of Prime Rib, but you"ll make due with a thick Ribeye steak on the grill!
