TERRUNYO
 Single Block
2015 Cabernet Sauvignon
 Pirque Vineyard, Maipo Valley, Chile

This is a memorable cabernet sauvignon,
it displays the rich, dark fruit and the impressive length of the very best!

A Single Block is a vineyard within a vineyard, consistently the best soil, exposure, plantings and drainage on the site.

93 Points!The Wine Spectator
“An unctuous red, dripping with molten chocolate notes that wrap around concentrated dark fruit flavors.
Very creamy, with a plush finish that offers a rich array of spice and mocha details.”

91 Points! -The Wine Advocate
“2015 was warm and dry, and the grapes ripened to 14.7% alcohol.
2015 clearly marked the wines, and there is an almost sweet sensation in the fruit (but there"s no residual sugar).
It has some grainy and dusty tannins, with more concentration and opulence than 2016.
It matured in French barrique for 15 months.”

Our Thoughts on this wine.....

Deep red in color, with concentrated ripe black fruit aromas intertwined with leather, chocolate and plum in a perfect balance.
Dense with soft tannins and a sweet fruit.
Persistent chocolate and dried fruit flavors on the long and lingering finish.
Terrunyo Cabernet Sauvignon is an ideal accompaniment to beef, pork, lamb with spicy sauces and full-flavored cheeses.

 A bit about Maipo Valley......

The Central Valley is Chile’s most productive wine region, and it includes four sub-regions.
The Maipo Valley is one of those sub regions. The Maipo Valley has nearly 8,000 acres under vine. Grapes grown are, in order of acreage, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Chardonnay, Carménère, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Pinot Noir. Maipo is best known for Cabernet Sauvignon.
Chile has produced wine since the 16th century, when Spanish conquistadores brought grape vines and established vineyards.
Sweet wines were favored until well into the 19th century, when French immigrants began making dry wines with a decidedly French character.
Chile’s long, narrow, coastal geography has made the transportation of wines challenging over the centuries, though today it is a major exporter.
To the west is the Pacific Ocean, to the east are the Andes.
But the isolation has also meant that Chile vineyards have so far never been attacked by phylloxera, meaning that unlike viticulturalists in many other part of the world,
Chilean vineyards can be planted with original rootstock, saving producers the laborious job of grafting vines onto phylloxera-resistant rootstocks.
Chile started an appellation system in 1994, and there are five regions each with numerous sub-regions.
Chile has attracted investment from European and American producers, including Robert Mondavi Winery, Kendall-Jackson, Lafite-Rothschild and Miguel Torres.
