We are going to have some September weather over the next few days and, right on cue, some of the Pumpkin brews and the fall releases are starting to show the faces. Stay tuned so that you don"t miss something that you have to have!!

By the way, we"ve had a lot of interest in the Dusty Baker Family wines. We"re sorry for the confusion with

Our Thoughts.....The greatest compliment that I can give this wine is Kate"s reaction when she first tasted it with me - WOW!!
The wine itself fairly blossoms from the glass with an intense aroma of dark fruit and violets; the entry is soft but full and almost inky in texture with distinct flavors of blackberry, blueberry, cinnamon spice, and rich cocoa & coffee. The flavors evolve as you appreciate the length on the palate. Intense, but with velvety tannins and exceptional balance in acidity and fruit. Most remarkably, this wine is not yet fully matured and will continue to develop more mastery over the next 3-5 years in my opinion.

And to top it off, it is packed beautifully in a wooden crate with tissue wrapping and wax seal that make it an excellent Holiday gift candidate.

Do not miss this wine!!
Only 19 six packs are available each bottle is individually numbered.

The Winemaker"s Thoughts.....
Intense ruby red color with violet hues. The nose is fruity with hints, cherry, blackberry, blackcurrant, elegant scents of spices with pleasant vanilla and chocolate tones. On the palate the entry is dry, full, harmonious, lingering, the right tannin content confirms the rich elegant bouquet. Excellent length and balance.
Food pairings: Ideal for dishes with meat sauce, cheese and cold cuts.

Friday Tasting

90+ Cellars
Philip Biesel

 5:00 - 8:00 p.m

The Philosphy
At 90+ Cellars, we want you to enjoy great wine, anytime. That’s why we search the globe for outstanding wines from highly rated wineries and vineyards, and bottle those wines under our own label for less.

Always a great wine.

The Story
It all started in the spring of 2009. Armed with a copy of the latest Wine Spectator, founder Kevin Mehra set out on a mission to bring higher quality wine to the market for a better price. He started calling wineries with a history of high ratings to ask if they had extra wine for sale. Some told him to get lost, but in the end, he found a handful of wineries that liked his concept. The plan was simple: we put their wine in our bottle, and sell it for less.

But why would wineries want to do that?

You may recall that the economy wasn’t in the best shape in 2009. Demand for wines priced more than $20 a bottle had plummeted and inventories were piling up. Rather than discount their wine and erode the value of their brand, we found that wineries were willing to part with a certain percentage of their production for a reduced price.

The Wines!!

Riesling $13.99
Fragrant aromas of white peach, nectaring and Bosc pear backed by pastoral scents of hay or straw. Slightly sweet and refreshingly juicy, you may just be inclined to sip it faster than a Maybach on the autobahn.

Sancerre Rose" $16.99
Generous aromas of fresh strawberries and raspberries tied together by a boquet of wildflowers, lavender, and stony minerality. A silky and somewhat creamy texture combines with a gentle freshness to make this wine both refreshing and nourishing. Pair it with all of summer"s pleasures.

Monster Red $24.99

Dark and dense with captivating aromas of black currant, roasted coffee, cedar and smoke with faint hints of fresh herbs and mint. Powerful, but impressively well poised. Serve with slow cooked pulled pork, grilled Portobello mushrooms, or some cave-aged Gruyere cheese.

Shiraz $12.99
Inky in color with seductive aromas of spicy, dark fruit and perfumed plums. The wine is full-bodied, round and juicy with subtle trails of vanilla in the finish. You"ll love a glass with savory short ribs, hearty stews, or a juicy cheeseburger off the grill.

Ironside Cabernet Sauvignon $17.99

Stainless steel fermented with up to 8 months barrel age in a blend of new and used French Oak.

The vintages of 2012 and 2013 were huge. In fact, they were record-breaking. 2014 was pretty big too, despite an 8% drop from the previous year. An early bud break and a smaller crop size resulted in accelerated ripening and one of the earliest harvests on record. An extended drought and unexpected earthquake did their best to mess with the vines, but quality reigned in the end. Grape bunches consisting of small berries with good concentration were the norm across most California wine regions. This is especially true of Paso Robles, where water is scarcer than ever. Here, the grapes ended up with a high skin to juice ratio.

The 2014 vintage of Iron Side Cabernet Sauvignon comes to you from Mendocino and Paso Robles. Out of all the wines we tasted, the wines from these two regions came together and just clicked. The Cabernet from Mendocino provided the wine’s classic aroma and texture; Paso Malbec added weight and richness, and the Petite Sirah delivered color and length. The best rock bands sometimes consist of only three members, talented enough to maintain intensity AND clarity from start to finish. This wine is no different.

It’s a pleasure to bring to you our third vintage of Iron Side Cabernet Sauvignon. The look may have changed a little, but you can expect the same bold, electrifying experience when you pop the cork.

Saturday Afternoon Tasting

Bravo Italian Imports
Fabbio Marrone

The Wines!!

Gavi Sylla Sebaste $17.99
This is a pleasant straw-yellow color wine. Its scent is delicately vinous hinting to fruit. The flavor is dry, fresh, with fruity and aromatic acidity. This wine is at its best six to eight months after the harvest. It should be served at a temperature ranging between 8 and 10 degrees and goes very well with starters and especially seafood.

Pinot Grigio Santa Alessandra $13.99
Gold colored, with shades of coppery or yellow onion peel.
It starts its olfactory sensations with mineral hints and fruity ones like pomegranate.
Hints of white fruit, pear and Golden apple.
Its flavour is full and rich, with hints of ripe yellow fruit. Structured and balanced, long and complex, its strong taste makes it a wine with a strong personality and versatile.
Hearty soups, risotto, pasta with tomato, white meat or fish sauces.
It goes well with white meats, fried or baked fish, or fish with tomato souce. Ideal as aperitif.

Schioppettino Marco Scolaris $16.99
Bronze Medal - International Wine Festival

Schioppettino is a dark-skinned grape variety native to Friuli-Venezia Giulia in the far northeastern corner of Italy. Having declined in plantings massively in the late 19th and 20th centuries, it was saved from extinction in the 1970s, and is now regaining the respect and recognition it once had.

Most Schioppettino wines are medium-bodied, deeply-colored, aromatic on the nose (violets and red berries) and spicy to the palate (peppery, earthy). Schioppettino is most often produced as a dry red wine, but can also be made into sparkling spumante versions, a local specialty of Friuli.

Primitivo di Manduria, Conte di Campiano $19.99
Intense ruby red with orange reflections.
Intense and complex bouquet with ripe plum, morello cherries and hints of spice.
Warm and balanced wine with a good texture and soft tannins.

Negroamaro Appassimento, Conte di Campiano $19.99
Ruby red with orange hues.
Intense and complex with notes of ripe fruits and spices.
Well balanced dry wine with good structure and supple tannins, aslightly bitter aftertaste.
Perfect with spicy pasta, red meat and mature cheeses.

The Beerman.......

Hey everybody! I"m still here for another few days! We will be doing a "Going Away Party" for me on Friday, August 25th from 5-7:30 pm or so! It"s weird to announce my own going away party, but we thought it would be the best to do it on my actual "Last Day".  I hope to see everyone there! We"ll have food and drinks and maybe a cake and beers from my "private stash"! It"ll be fun! - Dave

As always, check us out on Facebook   for a more detailed list (and photos!).  - Dave

Founders DKML Bourbon Barrel Malt Liquor: Yeah, they went there... "Golden amber with a short, thick, white head, falling quickly to a ring, leaving some lacing, especially after tipping the glass for a drink. Just a little visible carbonation. Malty and sweet aroma, with the bourbon evident as well. Very strong alcohol presence in the taste, coupled with malts, sweet corn taste and bourbon. This is a very boozy beer, but an enjoyable taste. Great sipping beer. I may buy a second 4 pack, if there remains any on the shelf. I expect some may react in horror at the idea of a craft malt liquor, but I commend Founders for their boldness and creativity, quite successfully implemented."

Dogfish Head Punkin Ale:
A Classic Fall Pumpkin Ale! "Like a Thanksgiving setup with all the fixings and the associated spices, not necessarily pumpkin or pumpkin pie though, which it doesn"t claim to be. Also sweet smelling, like the brown sugar... which comes through on the tasting too. Ground nutmeg and clove and pumpkin are the other dominant flavors with some bread notes and no notable hops. Feel: Not what I was expecting but very good... crisp, refreshing like biting into an apple, yet soft and sort of creamy after that. If you let it linger on your palate long enough you get some pumpkin mouthfeel, but it is not extravagant by any means. This is pretty refreshing and if it wasn"t 7% would be a very sessionable beer!"

Ayinger Oktoberfest Marzen Lager:
My absolute favorite Oktoberfest beer! "The beer is bright and golden amber in color. The head is off white and fairly short lived. There are a few islands of lacing and a ring around the mug as the beer is consumed. Aroma is rich malt, most likely Munich, and a little hope spice. The taste follows the nose with full rich toasted Munich malt, then a little cracker finishing with a bit of hope bite. No real perceived bitterness, just enough to balance. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, soft, lightly carbonated and dry. That group of traits together is what makes this an easy all night drinker. Overall, excellent. This is an OG brew even if Ayinger isn"t technically "in" Munich. Try this one even if you haven"t liked other American versions."

Commonwealth Papi Chulo New England Style IPA:
A great IPA for everybody! "I don’t know the exact blend of hops that have gone into this 6.5% ABV IPA, but I can tell you Papi Chulo carries a wonderful blend of tropical fruit flavors of mango, apricot, light melon, grapefruit and more. The brewery, however, hasn’t forgotten about what makes an IPA an IPA — the bitterness. At 54 IBU, the brew brings a solid hop bite to keep all of that fruitiness in check and reminder you this isn’t a fruit juice you’ve got in your glass. Not only is Papi Chulo and excellent IPA with well-rounded flavors, it also served as an excellent introduction to the Virginia brewery. The beer certainly has that modern, tropical lean to it, but the company hasn’t forgotten to bring the bite to the party. Without that hop bitterness the IPA would still be pretty tasty, but not nearly as refreshing or tasty. I may have originally been on a mission to pick up some malt-forward brews, but am glad I found this tasty IPA, as well."

Avery Coconut Porter:
Perfect if you like coconut! "Dark brown and largely opaque, the beer"s delicate creme is short in stature but long lasting. Lavish aromas of chocolate, toast, nuttiness, coffee and cream are wrapped in an envelope of bold coconut, whisky and the nuances that those barrels bring. Nearly achingly sweet, the early palate is chocked full of brown sugar, toffee and sweet cream. And those flavors lock onto the palate for the duration of taste with little development as the ale rolls along the middle. Rich caramels, toffee, coffee, chocolate and cream mingle on the tongue while the bold character of bourbon is oaken, vanilla-like, and spicy with sweet whisky. Overtones of coconut and chocolate come together like mounds candy but with a strong bourbon spice in finish. Full, rich and long on the after palate, the beer"s booze soaked caramels are unrelenting as a desert-like taste of those chocolate and coconut characteristics linger deep into the next sip."
